Last night I read an article in the December 2003 Smithsonian Magazine about who might be the infamous Deep Throat. The Deep Throat Uncovered project fingers Fred Fielding, an aide to John Dean as the person who is the infamous Deep Throat of the Watergate Scandal. I however believe that the true unnamed source to Woodward and Bernstein is none other than that high stakes troublemaker, Dr. Henry Kissinger.
Who but the man that uttered the following could it be?
The illegal we do immediately. The unconstitutional takes a little longer.
Henry Kissinger, New York Times, Oct. 28, 1973The whole idea that it is Dr. Kissinger is so wrong that it must be right. If I’m right, I don’t think that we shall have long to wait, as Dr. K. was born in 1923 which makes him over 80; and everybody knows that you don’t live forever.
