Contrary to popular belief, I have not perished from the face of the earth.
My father has had another small stroke, so Mrs. Wingnut and I offered to join my brother and his wife in Arizona to pack up the house and get it ready to sell. Here is a brief synopsis of events:
- 2013-10-11 – Fly to Phoenix after work and stay overnight with Sharon Legge and Tom Edwards
- 2013-10-12 – Drive to Jerome to visit Lance Shall, my best man, and his wife Wendy. Drive to Skull Valley for Wendy’s mom’s quilting group show. Dinner in Prescott, back to Jerome, and get the tour of the two rooms over the over-engineered garage with 18′ ceilings. The rooms will be guest rooms at their B&B, Camp Jerome.
- 2013-10-13 – Breakfast at the Mile High Grill and strolling through all the galleries and attractions in Jerome.
- 2013-10-14 – Drive through Prescott and Yarnell (Not much fire damage visible on the road through town) on the way back to Phoenix through Wickenburg. Start packing, pitching, and donating stuff in the house.
- 2013-10-15 – More packing, pitching and donating.
- 2013-10-16 – More packing, pitching and donating.
- 2013-10-17 – More packing, pitching and donating.
- 2013-10-18 – More packing, pitching and donating. An underwhelming trip to the Arizona State Fair; it ain’t no “Great Minnesota Get-together”! But the Indian fry bread was a great treat.
