The baseball gods have definitely been smiling on the Minnesota Twins this year. From twelve eleven and one-half games back early in the season they won a Central Division championship today. All of this in a nail biting finish where we were rooting for Joe Mauer to clinch the batting title for the American League (Switching back and forth to the NY v Toronto game; checking the MLB site), and hoping for the Detroit Tigers to lose to the Kansas City Royals so that we’d get the title instead of just the wild-card slot.
The same thing was happening in the National League West where Anaheim and LA were down to the same standoff as we were with Detroit.
What a day!
