- There is a big difference between saying what you do and doing what you say.
- Learn to listen; listen to learn.

- Sober truth: “Poor me” can lead to “pour me” — a drink!
- Sober reflection: We have to like ourselves to be able to laugh at ourselves.
- Sober corollary: Wherever there are two recovering alcoholics, there’s a meeting.
- Sober saying: There’s nothing that can happen to me today that my Higher Power and I — together — can’t handle.
- If you don’t drink again or use again, you don’t ever have to go back to where you came from.
- A mistake is evidence that someone has tried to do something.
- I never got drunk watching another drink. I never got serenity watching others do the steps. This is a program of action.
- The program is for participants, not spectators.
- When does it get better? It gets better when your behavior changes.
